Cyber Essentials Plus is a UK government-backed certification designed to help organisations of all sizes demonstrate their commitment to cybersecurity. It builds upon the foundational Cyber Essentials certification by adding a hands-on technical audit. Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus demonstrates a higher level of security assurance and provides greater confidence to customers, partners and stakeholders.

Cyber Essentials Plus helps organisations stay safe by ensuring five technical controls are in place:

• Secure configuration: Computers are set up securely to minimise ways that a cyber-criminal can find a way in. 

• User access control: They control who can access your data and services and what level of access they have.

• Malware protection: They identify and immobilise viruses or other malicious software before it has a chance to cause harm.

• Security update management: They prevent cyber criminals using vulnerabilities they find in software as an access point to your systems.

• Firewalls: They create a security filter between the internet and your network.
